Well, it's here! The excitement surrounding the annual celebration of the birth of Christ is building as we are just days away from this special time. For most of us, it will mean family gatherings, church services, sharing of gifts, and lots of food. Unfortunately, for so many, this will not be how they celebrate the season. Far too many will be cold and homeless. Others will be in a hospital somewhere or thousands of miles away from home serving in our Armed Services. Countless others will be dealing with tragedy and challenges that we will never know about.
In some respects, I have been in some of these situations across the years. But admittedly, never hungry, never cold, never without hope and love at Christmas. I pray that all will find some respite of comfort during this Christmas season. That's our motivation at Coates and Associates, Inc., this year. We are engaging for the second time at our company in our 12 Days of Christmas Campaign. we will be invoiving our team in "deliberate acts of kindness". That's right, deliberate. We will be working, donating, and sharing our time, talents and resources to specific initiatives, efforts, and concerns at this special time of the year.
Some of our efforts will be known to those with and for whom we give, while others will be anonymous. Either way, we want to celebrate Christmas this year knowing that it is "better to give, than to receive".We choose not to measure our efforts in terms of how large the gift or how significant it may or may not be. Instead, we hope the gifts we give will bring hope and joy to someone along the way, just as the birth of the Saviour has been for countless people, ourselves included.
So then, how about you and your organization? Our team at Coates and Associates, Inc. presents you with a challenge today. Join us! We invite you to engage in the 12 Days of Christmas Challenge and share glad tidings of great joy with people and groups where you live. What's more, we plan to share some of our activities with you over the next 12 days and we would love to hear from you about your encounters as well. We want to share your stories as well as ours, not to bring glory to us, but to share the beauty of giving with others.
Will you join us in deliberately making a difference this Christmas? Start today by gathering your team together and brainstorming ideas regarding to whom and where you have already planned to help, and simply add other activities to cover the next 12 days. Then, deliberately, go out and do it. Be creative. Think outside the box. It's not about us, its about introducing others to love, kindness, hope and joy. The prize for the winner of the challenge is the warmth and blessing you will receive by deliberately helping others this Christmas. By the way, don't be shocked if you find yourself getting hooked on this notion. People need our help all year. This whole idea could start a revival in all of us to participate 365 days a year.
Follow our blog and watch our traffic on Twitter as we share our 12 Days of Christmas happenings. Send us information about your experiences. We want to share with others the "great stuff" you will do. In fact, encourage your friends and colleagues to become involved in the 12 Days of Christmas Challenge, by sharing this blog with them in the coming days!
Now, let's get started. Merry Christmas!
